Social Behavior Research and Practice (SBRP) is dedicated to the open dissemination and rigorous discussion of research on the dynamic, interactive relationship between individuals and the social contexts they inhabit, consistent with the journal's Publication Ethics commitment to scientifically sound, practically relevant scholarship.

SBRP welcomes original research, reviews, and practice-based articles covering:
- Substance use disorder screening, assessment, and treatment
- Mandatory and court-referred treatment approaches, including for adolescents
- Behavioral health and social work practice
- Organizational behavior, leadership, and workplace culture
- Cultural and identity-related dimensions of social behavior
- Community and social service intervention
- Psychology and cognitive dimensions of social behavior
- Public health and social policy implications of behavioral research
Who Should Submit
The journal welcomes contributions from psychologists, social workers, behavioral health clinicians, researchers, criminal justice professionals, educators, and students across the social and behavioral sciences, consistent with the manuscript types described in the Author Guidelines.
Scope of Contributions
SBRP accepts a broad range of article types — original research, review articles, case reports, mini reviews, editorials, short communications, and letters to the editor — provided each submission falls genuinely within the subject areas above and meets the journal's standards for scientific and practical rigor, as evaluated through the Peer Review Process.
What Falls Outside Our Scope
Manuscripts addressing purely clinical psychiatric or pharmacological treatment, without a substantive social-behavioral or practice-oriented focus, are generally better suited to a dedicated psychiatry or clinical medicine journal, and authors are encouraged to consider journal fit carefully before submission.
