Aim & Scope
Otolaryngology (OOJ) is dedicated to the open dissemination and rigorous discussion of research spanning ear, nose, and throat disorders, head and neck surgery, and audiology, consistent with the journal's Publication Ethics commitment to scientifically sound, clinically relevant scholarship.

OOJ welcomes original research, reviews, and case reports covering:
- Hearing loss, ototoxicity, and audiological diagnosis
- Vestibular and balance disorders
- Head and neck surgery, including oncologic and reconstructive procedures
- Precancerous and malignant lesions of the oral cavity and oropharynx
- Sinus and nasal disorders, including rhinosinusitis
- Laryngology and voice disorders
- Thyroid and endocrine disorders relevant to head and neck surgery
- Pediatric otolaryngology
- Emerging diagnostic and hearing-assistive technology, including AI-based applications
Who Should Submit
The journal welcomes contributions from otolaryngologists, head and neck surgeons, audiologists, researchers, general practitioners, educators, and trainees engaged in ear, nose, throat, and head and neck research and clinical care, consistent with the manuscript types described in the Author Guidelines.
Scope of Contributions
OOJ accepts a broad range of article types — original research, review articles, case reports, mini reviews, editorials, short communications, and letters to the editor — provided each submission falls genuinely within the subject areas above and meets the journal's standards for scientific and clinical rigor, as evaluated through the Peer Review Process.
What Falls Outside Our Scope
Manuscripts addressing hearing or balance disorders purely from a non-clinical acoustic-engineering perspective, without a substantive clinical or surgical otolaryngology focus, are generally better suited to a dedicated audio engineering or acoustics journal, and authors are encouraged to consider journal fit carefully before submission.
