Improved Results from a Collaborative, Family-Centered Approach to Pediatric and Neonatal Malnutrition
Abstract
Assessment of nutritional status and ensuring adequate nutrient intake are essential components of health care for infants and children who are ill. Pediatric malnutrition is defined as “an imbalance between nutrient requirement and intake, resulting in cumulative deficits of energy, protein, or micronutrients that may negatively affect growth, development, and other relevant outcomes.”
