Aim & Scope
Nephrology – Open Journal (NOJ) is dedicated to the open dissemination and rigorous discussion of research spanning the full breadth of nephrology and kidney-related disease, consistent with the journal's Publication Ethics commitment to scientifically sound, clinically relevant scholarship.
Core Subject Areas
NOJ welcomes original research, reviews, and case reports covering:
- Dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis)
- Tubular and interstitial disorders
- Glomerular and vascular disorders, including primary glomerulonephritis and vasculitis
- Hypertension and blood pressure control in renal disease
- Mineral metabolism and secondary hyperparathyroidism
- Kidney transplantation, transplant immunology, and medical management of the transplanted patient
- Diabetic nephropathy
- Management of acute kidney injury and acute kidney failure
- Chronic kidney disease, including staging, progression, and nutritional management
Who Should Submit
The journal welcomes contributions from nephrologists, transplant physicians, dialysis specialists, renal scientists, general practitioners, educators, and trainees engaged in kidney-related research and clinical care, consistent with the manuscript types described in the Author Guidelines.
Scope of Contributions
NOJ accepts a broad range of article types — original research, review articles, case reports, mini reviews, editorials, short communications, and letters to the editor — provided each submission falls genuinely within the subject areas above and meets the journal's standards for scientific rigor, as evaluated through the Peer Review Process.
What Falls Outside Our Scope
Manuscripts addressing kidney disease purely from a surgical-technique or urological perspective without a substantive nephrology/renal-medicine focus are generally better suited to a dedicated urology journal, and authors are encouraged to consider journal fit carefully before submission.
