Nephrology – Open Journal (NOJ) is always seeking qualified, engaged researchers and clinicians to join its reviewer pool. Reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the scientific quality and integrity of the journal, consistent with the standards described in the journal's Reviewer Guidelines, and serving as a reviewer is also a valuable opportunity for professional development and staying current with emerging research in nephrology and kidney disease.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome applications from researchers, clinicians, and academics with:

  • A relevant doctoral degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) or substantial professional expertise in nephrology, renal medicine, transplantation, dialysis, or a related field
  • A track record of published research, demonstrating familiarity with scientific methodology and academic writing standards
  • Willingness to provide timely, constructive, and confidential feedback on submitted manuscripts, consistent with the journal's Peer Review Policy

What Reviewing Involves

Reviewers are asked to evaluate assigned manuscripts against the journal's peer review criteria, typically completing a structured Reviewer Evaluation Form within an agreed timeframe. Reviewers are not obligated to accept every review invitation and may decline assignments outside their area of expertise or when their schedule does not permit a timely review.

How to Apply

Interested researchers should submit an expression of interest to the editorial office, including:

  • A current CV or academic biography
  • A brief statement of relevant subject-matter expertise within nephrology or kidney disease research

Review Process for Applications
