About the Journal
Nephrology – Open Journal (NOJ) is dedicated to publishing rigorous, peer-reviewed research spanning the full breadth of kidney disease — from chronic kidney disease and dialysis to transplantation, polycystic kidney disease, and disorders of mineral and bone metabolism in renal patients.
The kidneys play a central role in maintaining the body's fluid balance, electrolyte regulation, and waste filtration, and kidney disease remains one of the most significant and growing global health burdens. NOJ exists to support open dissemination of research that advances both the basic scientific understanding of renal physiology and disease, and the clinical practice of nephrology.
NOJ publishes work spanning original research, clinical trials analysis, and review articles addressing current and emerging issues in the field — reflecting genuine ongoing coverage of topics such as chronic kidney disease progression, polycystic kidney disease treatment, and mineral and bone disorders in renal patients.
Editorial Leadership
The journal is led by Editor-in-Chief Rujun Gong, MD, PhD, FASN, supported by an Editorial Board of researchers and clinicians with relevant expertise in nephrology and kidney disease.
