Sustainable Aquaculture Practices: Innovations in Fish Health Management and Environmental Conservation
Keywords:
Sustainable aquaculture;Abstract
Aquaculture has emerged as one of the fastest-growing food production sectors globally, contributing significantly to food security,
employment, and economic development. However, intensification of fish farming has led to increased disease outbreaks, environmental
degradation, antimicrobial misuse, and water quality deterioration. Sustainable aquaculture practices integrating fish health management with
environmental conservation are therefore essential to ensure long-term productivity and ecological balance. This study critically examines
modern innovations in sustainable aquaculture, including probiotic-based disease control, biofloc technology (BFT), integrated multi-trophic
aquaculture (IMTA), and eco-friendly water quality management systems.
