Archiving Policy

Anesthesiology (AOJ) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and continued accessibility of its published content, safeguarding the scientific record against the risk of loss due to technical failure, platform changes, or discontinuation of the journal.

Digital Preservation

Published articles are preserved through established digital preservation infrastructure, including participation in networks such as CLOCKSS, LOCKSS, and the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which maintain independent, geographically distributed archival copies of published content — consistent with the preservation standards described in the journal's Publisher Policies.

Purpose of Archiving

These preservation arrangements ensure that even in the event the journal's website becomes unavailable, published articles remain accessible to the scholarly and clinical community through these independent archival systems — protecting the permanence and citability of published research, and supporting the persistent identifiers described in the journal's Repository & Self-Archiving Policy.

Metadata Preservation

In addition to full-text article preservation, article-level metadata — including DOIs, author information, and bibliographic details — is maintained and deposited with Crossref to ensure persistent identification and discoverability of published content over time (see The Keepers Registry, which independently tracks AOJ's preservation status).

Ongoing Commitment

The journal's publisher maintains ongoing participation in these preservation networks as part of its broader commitment to responsible scholarly publishing infrastructure across the Openventio journal network.
