About the Journal
Anesthesiology (AOJ) is dedicated to publishing rigorous, peer-reviewed research spanning anesthesiology, perioperative medicine, and pain management — from anesthetic technique and patient safety to postoperative outcomes and critical care.
Anesthesiology sits at the intersection of surgical care, critical care, and pain medicine, and safe, effective anesthetic practice depends on an evolving evidence base spanning pharmacology, physiology, and clinical technique. AOJ exists to support open dissemination of research that advances anesthetic practice and perioperative patient safety.
The journal welcomes original research, case reports, and clinical reviews across the full range of anesthesiology and perioperative medicine, consistent with the manuscript types described in the Author Guidelines.
Editorial Leadership
The journal is led by Editor-in-Chief Masafumi Koshiyama, MD, PhD, supported by an Editorial Board of clinicians and researchers with relevant expertise in anesthesiology.
