Article Processing Charges (APC)
Anesthesiology (AOJ) charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) only upon acceptance of a manuscript — there is no submission fee, and no charge is ever applied to a rejected manuscript, consistent with the publisher-wide APC policy applied across the Openventio journal network.
Fee Structure
Charges are tiered according to the corresponding author's country, based on World Bank income classification, and by article type:
| Country Income Level | Research Article | Review Article | Case-Based Article | Short Communication |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| High-income | $1,079 | $879 | $779 | $579 |
| Upper-middle-income | $779 | $579 | $479 | $379 |
| Low-income | $579 | $379 | $279 | $179 |
Optional Language Editing
Authors may request professional English-language editing for an additional $179 (see English Language Editing Policy).
Fee Waivers
Full and partial waivers are available for authors facing genuine cost barriers to publication, including those based in low-income countries. Waiver decisions are made before peer review begins, so a waiver never influences the editorial outcome. Full eligibility criteria and the request process are set out in the journal's dedicated Waiver Policy.
When Payment Is Due
Payment is requested only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication, per the journal's Peer Review Process. Authors will not be asked for payment information at any earlier stage of the submission or review process.
Refunds
Where a withdrawal request is submitted after payment has been made, refund eligibility is addressed under the journal's Withdrawal Policy.
